This first edition was published in July 2007 and was an instant best seller. Written for the vacation home owner by attorney Stuart J. Hollander, the book addresses the unique challenges facing the second home owner wanting to pass on the property to the next generation and those facing the generation inheriting the vacation home. The solutions presented are easy to understand, and the narrative engages the reader with stories of cottage wars and planning gone awry. The book will tell you how to incorporate your cottage succession plan with your estate plan and information on creating an endowment.

Coming soon! This book was originally published in 1997 by Judith Huggins Balfe, whose family had a summer home on Nantucket. Balfe was an academic who used her vocation as a sociologist to study the effect of summer homes on families. We are pleased to republish this book which is a complement to the legal aspects presented in the cottage succession planning book, Saving the Family Cottage.

The alternate subtitle says it more poetically:50 Home Plans that flow from their surroundings. The author, architect Ken Richmond, focuses on the landscape when working with his clients, believing that most home designs ignore this important feature. Property owners buy property with a certain affinity for the landscape, and that affinity should be a guide to the home built on that site. The design solutions are seamlessly natural, hardworking and visually stunning. PROJECT ON HOLD UNTIL 2010
